just picked up a nikon super zoom 8 2nd hand today. unfortunately it didn't come with a manual.
I'm not sure it's in working order as I can't get it to turn over - may be the batteries?
Do any other users have this camera and could they offer any tips or things to look out for on this camera. Even better email me a copy of the manual.
Cheers

Yea, I've got one. It is a Nikon 8X Super Zoom. Is that the same thing? It does the same thing. I put good batteries in it and it does nothing. I take them out, turn them over, open and close the handle, put them back in, slap it around and it works. There is a short somewhere, most likily in the handle. Mine has some tape covering wires inside.
It takes great pictures, especially indoors as I have the Key lamp that goes on top. And it shoots at a 24fps rate for wild sync sound.
Whatch out for that light meter. NEVER let it go all the way past f16 or it gets stuck there. Then you have to beat the s___ out of it to get it to fall back. I leave mine on manual to make sure it is in play when I want it.
I have a manual and am willing to make a copy for a few bucks.

I have the Super Zoom 8 and have had the same problem with the batteries...when I first tried putting AAs in, I was using rechargable batteries and it didn't do squat...then I put normal over the counter alkalines in and everything started working again.
I don't know about anyone else's, but my Super Zoom 8 is a battery hog, requiring frequent changes in batteries...I avoid using the autozoonm feature which gives them a ltitle more life, but still, I seem to go through them pretty quickly.

I've got a few of them!
I was stupid and sold my first one, which the light meter worked great in, but all the rest I've seen, the light meter doesn't work at all, or it's WAY off if it moves at all.
By the way, the meter works off a hearing aid type battery you get to on the bottom of the camera.
I like mine, but these are a bit flakey.
